The subtitle for The Castaway Pirates is a pop-up tale of bad luck, sharp teeth, and stinky toes, which will lend you some idea of what is contained in this beautiful pop-up book that children of all ages will enjoy. This hardcover book has 24 beautifully illustrated pop-up pages that will be sure to delight. Just by looking at the cover, you will be able to see a sample of the intricate illustrations that grace the inside pages of this book.
We're taken on an adventure after the pirates' ship sinks, set afloat in their lifeboat in poetic verse that rhymes and flows like the water the pirates are sailing on. This pop-up book seems so much sturdier than others that I've seen, enjoyed by a 3-year-old boy without being torn. As the pirates sail in their lifeboat, they find a leak and have to try to find a way to stop it. A shark discovers them and so as the leak continues the pirates must outsmart the shark. They do so in a way that provides a nice twist to the story, providing an exciting end. Children and parents alike will enjoy reading this book with its intricate pop-up pages and the rhyming story.

I am a homeschooling mom in our second year. I am eclectic in our approach and use what works for each child. My husband and I have been married 8 year and we have 3 blessings from the Lord.
